We're Not in Japan Anymore...
Just a little something to help Katie keep up with all those who matter to her.

Ah goodness! My 日本語 (let's try it in Hiragana, not kanji...) isn't working... let's see if reporting the problem works.

And how can I not have mentioned Harry Potter when I've been reading it for about a week! It took a while to get into, I think... or maybe I'm just trying really hard not to get TOO into it so I don't rush through it! (: But now we're getting the mysteries solved and I need more!! (: I only have about 200 pages left though... )sniff( What will I do when I'm done?

Hmm... well, it seems that my Japanese (that *was* working before "new" blogger...) is not showing up now... I'll have to work on that.

Work has been sooooooo much better these last several days. I think it's mainly due to the fact that I've been working day shifts, instead of evening ones. I *HATED* closing. I like knowing I'll get off at four. I like not having to clean stuff. (: So I have a lot less to complain about work-wise.

And to make it even better, I have the next two days off due to a visit from Jeremy! (: Apparently he's left Aurora already... I guess our line was busy, so he couldn't get through... So now I'm all worried about him! I hope he sleeps somewhere safe... and when will he get here?? Eeeek! Stay safe, darling, wherever you are!

On a lighter note, two of my good friends from high school were married yesterday. (: The ceremony was really lovely. Mike got all choked up, and in turn, choked up his best man. Hehe. Jeni looked soooo pretty--her dress was gorgeous. The reception was a lot of fun--and it was the best man, Ryan's turn to get Mike all choked up. (: His toast was really sweet. My brother and Allen showed up a bit late, but they got lost! Poor guys... they really wanted to be there for the ceremony... and everyone kept asking about them... but at least they made it for a little while! Everyone was so happy to see them. (: I spent most of the evening catching up with Adrianne--what a riot! (: She was always one of my favorite friends. (: We had so much to talk about. It was a really fun evening. (:

Well... I'm gonna play around with Blogger, here... see if I can't get this 日本語 to work! (:

--Pah!-- Let's pray to God that I never have to work another Cruise Night. Or, at least... that I won't have to go in for the 'morning shift' the next day, next time! Blah!

But it wasn't so bad. There were enough of us to help each other.. and to keep getting in each others' ways. Oh well.

So I finished "Hana yori Dango" last night. Nice, happy ending for me--which was all i found myself begging for! Except now... I want more! Hehehe.. but I hear there's a manga, so I'm gonna try to find it when I get over to the big J-Pan. Here's hoping!

Hmm... can i write in 日本語 here? (:

Aw dang.. so it HAS been about a week, huh? Yikes. I didn't want this thing to turn out like my journal! ...which was, like, updated every three months... ugh. Okay, well, this summer has just been pretty boring and it would all sound the same if I wrote everyday, ne? So, there... there's my explaination.

Work is going okay. Not really better, and not worse... I guess I'm just getting a little better at it... I keep getting put on hot dog duty, but that isn't so bad. I've been trained on the frier and the grill, but don't like them as much. The frier makes you smell like grease, and the grill is still pretty intricate to my still-novice eyes. Oh well. What've I got? Like, 2 months left? ...which is good and bad news.

Oh hey! Marisha called the other day! It must've been last night... around 10pm or so. We talked for about 2 hours. (: I hope her keitai bill won't be too awful... It was great, though. I realize the other day that it had been nearly a year since I'd heard her voice... so weird... But she had a lot to talk about, and so did I... and I had a lot to ask! She's helped me feel a bit more relaxed about the trip I'm about to embark on.

I'm looking forward to going to a wedding this coming weekend that might help me worry less about another event that will some day be something I'll be fretting over. And not necessarily in a BAD way, of course! But, I know that there will be frustrating times as Jeremy and I plan our wedding. And it's a ways off... so I'm really looking forward to seeing Mike and Jenny get hitched, maybe to help pump myself up a little more. (: Hee hee... Weddings are so fun, anyway! All the hard work, all the time you've been together... for this special moment. (: And all your friends and family are there. (: I can't wait to start planning mine! Misha's will be soon, too! I cross my heart that I'm going to get back to the states for THAT one.

Soooo... it's just after midnight, and I could be at Borders... elbowing through the crowds with my mother's copy of the precious, coveted Harry Potter #5. ...but I'll wait for tomorrow sometime before work. I just hope MY copy arrives from Amazon soon! I don't want to have to start reading my mom's! Hee hee.. And she's out of town for the weekend... won't get to touch, much less read, her dear, sweet copy until Sunday night! It'll probably be one of the first things she asks me about! Hee hee. But can you blame us Potter-philes? It's been three years!! What's gonna happen?!

Ahh.. and in other news, I got to see "Finding Nemo." It was just about beyond adorable. And, of course, the animation and voice acting and story were all amazing. High-five to Pixar for another winner. (: It was cool to see it with Becca, too. She's been real busy lately, and it was nice to just chill with my homie. Heh.

Happy Friday the 13th! (: Hopefully work will go okay later today. Thursday wasn't bad, even with it being the last day of school. I may have even enjoyed work. (: Ugh... I wish I was doing something else with my time! I'd have more to write about. (:

Jeremy's gotten a job at Wal-Mart, and I think he's enjoying it okay. Had a not-so-nice encounter with a pissy customer. ): Oh well... that's customer service for you, huh? I hope we both survive our trivial summer jobs! (: ...or, not-so-trivial... I really do need the money. And so does he, I'm sure... anyways!

The Flushing Fair has come to town. Every summer, since I've been around, it has come at the end of the school year. I remember waiting and waiting for that last half-day of school and heading to the fair with my friends... just like the kids today. I get so nostalgic when I see students. (: It just makes me smile to see the big circle of life... ahhh well.

I think that'll be it.. time to sign off. (:

Man... All I can talk about is stupid work. :P Complain complain! Geez Louise... Let's see if I can't get over that!

I enjoyed a day off yesterday. It was productive, yet not so much that it didn't feel like a day off. (: I got some stuff mailed, some clothes unpacked, and my computer tidied off a little. I'm still only running on, like, 4%... but that's better than the 1-ish% I had earlier... ugh.

Oh, and I treated myself the other day and bought The Sims Superstar. It's pretty fun so far. I'm gonna try to make August Abbot a star! She's got a lot of charisma, so she's gonna be a great actress. He he

I got to talk to Jeremy a little bit again yesterday. He just interviewed at Wal-Mart and it sounds hopeful. I hope he enjoys his job more than I do mine! His online journal makes him sound so sad, though... I never get that impression when I speak to him on the phone and I hate it. Why can't he tell me about how he's feeling? Why do I have to read about it online? ...Oh well... That's just how we are, right? My internet time has been pretty choppy the last few days, so I had a lot to catch up on with him... hopefully I can talk to him before work at 4 and see how he is.

Well, Howdy. It's been a few days... sorry. Work has been crappy and internet time feels limited, so I haven't bothered. But I'm doing better with this than I normally do with my journal! Anyways. Nothing much going on. I am scheduled for 6 of 7 days this week... today'll be 4. Tomorrow is my day off, thank GOD. I feel like such a lame-o there... I do the job alright, I just get flustered and confused when people watch me, or yell/talk to me, or when it gets really busy. Sigh... Only a few more weeks, I guess... and they'll be decent paychecks, I suppose... I just can't wait to quit. And this next week will be no fun... the "Flushing Fair" is coming to town and I guess that's the busiest time of the year. I guess I just gotta get my crap in order before those days arrive. If I'm still on the team by then...

In other news, I'm dying to see Finding Nemo. I hear it's a blast.
